Background:
This is a family business. My mother Sally Gibor faced many difficult decisions and had few good options for care of my grandparents. She worked for several years in private duty home care for many prominent families in the Grosse Point area of Detroit, Michigan. In 1984, she purchased the Agency formerly owned by Clara Hammond of Grosse Pointe. In 1985, Care at Home was born. Many of the caregivers stayed on. She established a reputation as a small agency that provided the best home care at an affordable rate.
In 1990, I began helping to run the agency. I also worked as a caregiver on many of the more physically demanding cases while going to college. Mom retired in 1998 and I took over and changed nothing. Grandpa always said, "if it's not broke, why fix it?"
In 2004 my wife Emilie and I had a daughter. We named her Abbey after Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, Ireland where we went on our honeymoon. We also have two boys, Derrick and Tanner. Our main Source of Business is as it has always been, through word of mouth and our impeccable reputation.
